May 25, 2011- Preschool Graduation

Allie May- ready for Kindergarten!
It has been fun to work with Allie and her friends with school this year.  Allie is a bright girls, and really pick up on reading without much help from me.  She loves to learn and work and do her best.  She is SO excited to go to school in the fall.
For the last day of preschool, we had a little graduation party at Olivias house!
Here's the kids and some siblings....

The preschool friends... Kenya, Audree, Jenna, Allie and Olivia.

Ms Kristen had a cute idea.  The kids would blow out a candle to represent them leaving preschool, and re light it to represent them starting kindergarten.

Allie loves this Jenna, we're hoping they get them in same kindergarten class so we can do preschool friends with their siblings next year.

Way to go Allie May!  You're such a big girl, Moms going to miss you when you go to school!!

May 2011- Hair Day

I mean...
CRAZY hair day!
Here's Dylan going off to school like a unicorn.....
And sis a little like Medusa.....

Then in the tub that night these two wanted crazy hair too....

Love these cute kiddos, crazy hair and all!

April- May 2011 TRACK!

Makayla the Track Star!
This was Makaylas second year to run with the Ridgefield flyers.
She would start each meet with the 80 M hurdles.  Yes, the hurdles.  Those things scare me, but without any coaching, she just attacks them!
Before the last two meets, her coach came over and spent some time with her helping her, and she got even better.  She then ran the 100 M this year, then usually the 800 or a field event, and then the 4x100 relay.
It was fun to watch her get better each time.
Here she is when her relay team came in first:
Grace, Julianne, Summer and Makayla!

Running around practicing hand offs.

I have not been to a high school track with a better view- ever.
Looking out at bald eagles, a big, white Mt. St. Helen's and rainbows, its just nice to sit out there and watch.
Here she come in the 100- way in the front of this heat.

Some Hurdle running:

My plan is to always get there a little early to get this seat. Close to the finish, under the cover, and close to the hill where the little ones play so I can keep my eyes on them too.

Warming up.

Ridgefield Flyers 2011

After Makaylas first meet this year she complained her heels hurt.  I was like, "yeah, you just ran, go stretch and go to bed."
The next morning, she couldn't even walk down the stairs.  Umm, "take an ibuprofen and go to school."
But her heels weren't getting better.
We talked around and did some research and found her Achilles heel were the problem.  So she would ice morning and night, stretch and take ibuprofen, and we got some heel inserts.  This would help until she ran again, then it would start all over.
Finally she had to take a whole week off, because her coach didn't want her to tear the tendon.
This killed her, because track is such a short season!  But she took it easy and was feeling good by her last meet.  Then she ran, and right away I saw her limp away from the finish line.  "Do you want to be done makayla?"
"No mom!  I'm going to do all 4 events this is my last meet!"
So she did.  She ran hard.  She gave it her all, she did great.
Then came her last event, the 800M.  She took off good, was going strong, then came the last 100 M.  She had a look of such pain on her face and every step made her wince.  I know her body wanted to stop, but she kept going!  She pushed all the way across, and did great.  She was the rock star this season.  She never gave up.  We are so proud of her!!

****And now, a month after track, the heels are not a problem.  We're just keeping an eye on her heels.**

Easter- April 2011

Easter was a week long celebration around here.
It started out on a tuesday, which is Music day for Allie and Lance.  We have spent Tuesday mornings meeting at our church with friends singing and playing with music.  This week we sang about Easter then went outside for a fun hunt!

Allie was a good sport and would make sure Lance was finding eggs too.  She would quickly throw one in his basket and run to find more.

Then Wednesday came, which is preschool day.
This week preschool was at our house, so we made bags and did another hunt.  I would have each kiddo hide an egg for another friend, then each friend would take a turn finding them.

Heres our preschool group:
Audree, Allie, Kenya, jenna, Lance and Olivia.

This was a fun week to make treats-
Heres our Rice Krispy treat eggs nests with jelly bean eggs.

Sunday morning, we got to think about the real meaning of Easter and went to church.

More easter treats, bunny cakes:

Then to Grandma and Grandpas for a yummy Easter dinner with cousins.
Macie, Allie & Whitney:

Tanner, Camree and Lance:

These two boys can't pause from their meat and rolls to pose for a picture.  Really, thats all they eat every week. Meat and rolls. Its a wonder why they grow at all!

These girls know how to make an Easter dinner!
Aspen, McKenzie and Makayla.

Then a family Home evening about Easter:

Grandma and Grandpa Jones were able to come for a few days from Rexburg Idaho! We love them so much.  They are such great examples to us all.  They always put Family and the gospel first in their lives.  We all know they have a testimony, and they live it everyday.  It was so nice to spend Easter with them.

April 21, 2011

Happy 3rd Birthday Lance!
On Thursday, April 21st the kids and I went in to wake up Lance and sing Happy Birthday!
The kids had all picked out a little present to give him, he was so excited to wake up to that excitement.

I asked Lance where he wanted to go for lunch on his birthday.
He said "to school."  I think he remembered taking Makayla lunch on her birthday, but he was set on going and was pretty excited about it.
First we met Dylan and his friends for lunch.  Now I just love these 4th grade boys.  They are such a great group of kids.  And they loved having Lance there for lunch.  They kept talking to him, and played a little game called, "Lance who do you like better?" To which Lance would point to one of the boys and some would cheer and some would moan, and they kept playing until Lance thought he was a rock star!
He wouldn't, however, sit by them for a picture.
Theres Dylan, Adam, Joe, Zach, Jake, Spencer, Andrew and Dawson:

Then the boys leave and the 6th graders came in.  They were just as excited to see Lance.  Kara had made him a paper origami crane and he thought that was great.
But, again, wouldn't pose for a picture.
Here's Adrianne, Grace, Makaiela, Makayla, Allie, Kara and Helana.

I did make him stop for a birthday picture with sis before we left.
As we were walking out Allie said, "mom, can I come here on MY birthday?"
They had a fun lunch.

That night Dylan had a baseball game, so we made baseball cupcakes to share with the team.
Lance was so excited.  If I had known this day was going to be so exciting for him, I wouldn't have worried about having a little party over the weekend.  But he really wanted to have a 'Pirate Birthday'.

Lance really loves these boys and really looks up to them!
They were all pretty excited to have Lances bday cupcakes!
Dylan, Matthew, Andrew, Lance and Spencer Vance:

That night he open a present from his best buddy, Montey Mathison:
A Lightning McQueen monster truck. Montey knows lance so well!

Saturday was party time.
He just wanted a couple of buddies to come over for a pirate party.
This cake was fun to make and he LOVED it!

We played pin the patch on the pirate.

And a pirate matching game:

We ate hot dogs, strawberries, and Pirate Booty, then had cake and ice cream.

It was a fun PARRRRty!
Here's the email invite:

We love you Lance.  We're so glad you're party of our family.
Some things we love about you being three:
You always add an 'S' to every ones name: You'll says, "Allies, come play" or "moms, I can have a drink?"
You and Allie are the best of buds. When you get really happy you say, "Allies, lets hug!"
You LOVE to be outside
You Love yo have a BALL in your hand, or a bat at all times!
You don't need your binky any more!  You got sick with some sores in your mouth before your birthday and it hurt to suck the binky, so we just threw them all away!
You like to say, "OK moms" when I ask you to do something.
You still have a BIG smile, and we still LOVE when you start to giggle.
You're wearing 3T clothes, and size 7 shoes.
You think since you're 3, you need 3 of everything.
You love to go to nursery.
You love mommy!
Happy Birthday Lancey Pants.
(Or as you like to say, Lancey May) HA!
